Key Responsibilities Develop, validate, and optimize CMM inspection programs using specified software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso). Interpret complex engineering drawings, CAD models, and GD&T specifications to define measurement strategies. Perform First Article Inspection (FAI), in-process, and final product inspections on manufactured parts. Analyze measurement data, identify non-conformances, and generate comprehensive inspection reports. Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve measurement challenges and improve part quality. Maintain CMM equipment, ensure proper calibration, and perform routine troubleshooting. Select appropriate probing systems, fixtures, and setups for accurate and repeatable measurements. Recommended Qualifications Proficiency in CMM programming software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso). Expertise in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, including comprehensive GD&T standards. Solid understanding of metrology principles, measurement techniques, and inspection processes. 3+ years of experience programming CMMs in a manufacturing or production environment. Ability to troubleshoot CMM programs and optimize measurement routines. Technical degree or certification in Metrology, Quality Assurance, or a related engineering field. Bonus Qualifications Proficiency with advanced CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, Inventor). Experience with other metrology equipment such as vision systems, laser scanners, or optical comparators. Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods and software. Experience in designing or fabricating inspection fixtures for CMM applications.
