  • Estimated Compensation: $70,000 - $75,000 yearly (negotiable based on experience).
  • Type of Employment: 40 hours per week.
  • Period of Performance: 30 September 2025 29 May 2027 (Option to Extend Services)
  • Employee Paid Group Benefits Offered: Health/Dental/Vision.
  • Paid Time Off per Year: Up to 80 hours per year, occurring on day one.
  • Sick Leave per Year: Up to 56 hours per year, occurring on day one.

  • Travel: No travel is anticipated for this effort.

Summary of Services:

The Instructor/Course Developers will support the Public Health Education/Training Division in the development, writing, and teaching curricula for all formal public health courses and workshops within the U.S. School of Aerospace Medicine (USAFSAM). The Public Health Education/Training Division provides up-to-date, comprehensive training to Air Force public health personnel, flight surgeons, Independent Duty Medical Technicians (IDMTs), medical commanders, and external civilian partners.

Working Hours

The Instructor/Course Developers' working hours will be from 0730 to 1630, Monday through Friday, except Federal holidays, unless the Contracting Officer Representative stipulates otherwise. Although the schedule may have to be flexible, it will not exceed 40 hours per week.

Mandatory Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in public health or related field.
  • Eight (8) years of experience within a public health-related field.
  • Required to complete Basic Instructor Course (BIC) presented by USAFSAM/ED within one (1) year of start date if they are not already BIC certified.
  • Possess advanced skills in utilizing authorized equipment or required to be used in Public Health offices, i.e., outbreak investigation tools, mosquito traps, and food inspection materials.
  • Requires experience utilizing health-related databases and conducting health surveillance.
  • Signed Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) in place with their company based on the potential access to confidential, proprietary, and/or sensitive information. The NDA shall be provided to the Government Program Manager at the start of performance.

Highly Desired Qualifications

  • Prior Air Force military experience.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the activities of the Public Health Education Division in the creation of curriculum.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert for the creation of Public Health Education training.
  • Assist in designing Public Health lesson plans using Instructional System Development methodology.
  • Conducts classroom instruction for public health subjects.
  • Provides platform instruction for scheduled/assigned lessons in Public Health Apprentice, Contingency Preventive Medicine, Operational Entomology, Hearing Conservation Certification, Hearing Conservation Recertification, Community Health Workshop, Force Health Management Workshop, and Occupational Medicine Workshop.
  • Presents instruction according to lesson plans, or deviates, based on student needs.
  • Adjust learning experiences to meet student needs.
  • Instructional delivery must reflect approved instructor methodologies as found in Air Force Instruction.
  • Teaching steps to include attention, motivation, and interim summaries will be used during each lesson taught, with no more than one missed teaching step per four hours of instruction.
  • Perform as a consultant in providing operational consultations relevant to Force Health Management and Community Health Public Health programs in the Air Force.
