About the position

EMCD is the largest mining pool in Eastern Europe and a fast-growing ecosystem of fintech and crypto products. We provide infrastructure solutions for miners, investors, and institutions globally. As we expand our presence across new markets, we are looking for a Business Development Manager to help us build our footprint in Kazakhstan a key region for mining and fintech.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyse the fintech and crypto mining infrastructure landscape in Kazakhstan.
• Assist EMCD in entering the market by adapting products to local specifics.
• Engage with regulators, legal partners, and authorities to secure necessary licenses and approvals.
• Identify and develop strategic partnerships with local players (data centers, payment providers, technical integrators, etc.).
• Support the localisation and go-to-market strategy of EMCDs products.
• Represent EMCD at industry events and build brand awareness in the region.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in B2B sales or business development.
• Understanding of fintech and/or crypto products.
• Knowledge of Kazakhstans regulatory environment or readiness to quickly dive into licensing matters.
• Strong negotiation skills with a wide range of stakeholders from government institutions to private vendors.
• A self-starter mindset with the drive to build a market from scratch.
• Deep familiarity with the realities, barriers, and opportunities of the Kazakhstani market.
• Fluent in Russian; English from B2 level.
• Location: Kazakhstan

Challenges: 

• Brand awareness: EMCD is not yet well-known in Kazakhstan you'll need to educate the market and earn trust from scratch.
• Uncertainty: Market entry is not a fully structured process you'll act not only as an executor but also as the architect of the local strategy.
• Technical fluency: You'll need a good grasp of how mining, wallets, OTC services, and fintech integrations work to hold meaningful discussions with partners and articulate our value proposition.
• Cross-level communication: From local partners to our international team your ability to adapt communication styles and align diverse interests will be key.
