Accounts/Admin Assistant

About the position

Our client is a leading provider of support services for individuals with learning disabilities, committed to empowering individuals to lead fulfilling lives. They are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounts and Admin Assistant to join their team in Warrington and play a vital role in supporting the finance and operations team by ensuring financial accuracy and contributing to the smooth day-to-day running of the organisation.

As the Accounts and Admin Assistant, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Manage purchase and sales invoices, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Support monthly and year-end financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Maintain financial records, reconcile bank statements, and liaise with auditors.
  • Provide finance-related support to senior management, including ad-hoc reporting and project support.
  • Ensure compliance with charity finance regulations and best practices.
  • Deliver high-level administrative support to the Senior Management Team including diary and document management.
  • Manage office communications, filing systems, and inventory of supplies.
  • Draft correspondence, reports, and meeting minutes, supporting effective internal communication.
  • Coordinate meetings, training, and events as required.
  • Maintain accurate employee HR records and support recruitment administration.
  • Supervise and mentor learners in administrative tasks, promoting confidence and independence.
  • Champion a respectful, inclusive, and empowering environment for learners and staff.

The Accounts and Admin Assistant with have the following skills and attributes:

  • Proven experience in managing business finances, ideally within education, social care, or charitable sectors.
  • AAT qualification or equivalent, or significant relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in Xero or similar accounting software.
  • NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or working towards).
  • Strong organisational, time-management, and communication skills.
  • A positive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office, Xero, HR Pulse, and other digital platforms.

You will be working 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday.  Appointment will be subject to DBS clearance, right to work checks and satisfactory references.

£21,000 - £23,000 per year DOE
