IOT Engineer

About the position

Our esteemed client, an established MNC, is searching for a IoT Engineer:

Job Responsibilities

  • Support the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of IoT systems used in construction, automotive, and waste management environments.
  • Provide technical assistance for smart fleet and waste management platforms, ensuring smooth operations and prompt resolution of issues.
  • Collaborate with development teams to test and validate IoT devices in line with platform and vehicle integration requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with required communication protocols and data formats for seamless device-software integration.
  • Perform hands-on testing of new hardware, especially in automotive settings, to validate functionality and performance.
  • Offer feedback to hardware vendors for quality improvements and compliance with industry standards.
  • Assist in on-site deployment of IoT devices in vehicles, including basic wiring, testing, and problem resolution.
  • Create and maintain clear documentation for device integration, protocol specifications, testing procedures, and wiring guides.
  • Stay informed on the latest IoT advancements and trends relevant to automotive and industrial applications.
  • Liaise with external IoT platform partners and internal teams (e.g., software engineers, project managers, operations) to ensure successful project implementation.
  • Provide IT support for in-house hardware and software systems when necessary.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • 3 to 5 years of practical experience working with IoT systems, preferably in automotive or industrial environments.
  • Possession of a valid Class 3 driving license is advantageous.
  • Experience in testing and integrating IoT solutions in vehicles or industrial settings.
  • Familiarity with automotive protocols and interfaces such as CAN bus, OBD-II, and telematics systems.
  • Skilled in performing basic wiring and physical integration of devices with vehicle systems.
  • Proficiency in using and managing cloud-based IoT platforms (e.g., AWS IoT, Azure IoT Hub).
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, especially in hardware/software integration.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and continuous improvement.
  • Able to support product enhancement discussions and contribute to documentation, training materials, and solution demonstrations.

Additional Information:

  • Salary: Up to SGD 6,000 +VB (1 - 2 Months)
  • Working Location: Kranji
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm
