  • Develop a love for reading and writing, encouraging exploration of a wide range of texts (fiction, non-fiction, poetry, drama) and fostering critical analysis skills (close reading, identifying themes, character development, literary devices).

Building Relationships:

  • Build strong and positive relationships with students, fostering their confidence in written and verbal communication.
  • Provide constructive feedback and support to enable students to reach their full potential (individualized learning plans, targeted intervention strategies).
  • Cultivate a stimulating and supportive learning environment that encourages participation, intellectual curiosity, and a love for the English language.

Assessment and Evaluation:

  • Design and implement effective assessment strategies to monitor student progress in reading, writing, speaking and listening skills (formative and summative assessments).
  • Provide students with clear, constructive feedback that helps them improve their writing, reading, and analytical skills (written feedback, peer review, self-assessment).

The Ideal Candidate:

  • A qualified English teacher with a demonstrable track record of success in engaging students and fostering their love of English.
  • Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring a love of literature and language in students of all abilities.
  • Strong pedagogical skills and the ability to deliver innovative and effective lessons that cater to diverse learning styles.
  • A commitment to high standards and the ability to create a positive, stimulating, and supportive learning environment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
  • A willingness to be part of a dynamic school and contribute to its ongoing development.

What We Offer:

  • The opportunity to join a thriving and supportive English department within a successful school.
  • A chance to make a real difference in the lives of students and foster their passion for English language and literature.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package (details to be discussed at interview).
