Are you a passionate and engaging Teacher of Religious Education with a desire to inspire young people to explore the big questions of life, faith, and spirituality? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our thriving RE department in a high-achieving secondary school in Ealing.

About the RE Department:

The RE department is a collaborative and supportive team with a shared passion for fostering students' spiritual growth, ethical awareness, and understanding of religious diversity. We offer a stimulating and engaging curriculum that explores a range of religious and philosophical traditions, promoting dialogue and critical thinking.

About the Role:

  • Teach Religious Education across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching at Key Stage 5 depending on experience and interest.
  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities.
  • Use a range of teaching methods and resources, including discussions, debates, guest speakers, and visits to places of worship, to bring RE to life for students.
  • Assess student progress, set targets, and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys.
  • Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our RE curriculum remains relevant and challenging.
  • Foster an appreciation of different religions and worldviews in students, encouraging them to develop their own beliefs and values in a respectful and tolerant manner.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in RE education.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Holds QTS or equivalent.
  • Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Religious Education.
  • Demonstrates a passion for teaching RE and a commitment to student success.
  • Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
  • Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Has a good understanding of the National Curriculum for RE.
  • Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
