About the position
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Service Accounting Specialist to join our remote finance team. In this role, you will support service-related accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, billing, and revenue recognition. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain financial integrity and support business decision-making. Important Requirement: Applicants must currently reside in the United States and possess a valid U.S. work authorization. Key Responsibilities Service Accounting & Financial Operations Manage service-related accounting activities, including billing, invoicing, and revenue recognition. Ensure accurate recording of financial transactions in compliance with GAAP. Reconcile accounts, investigate discrepancies, and resolve issues in a timely manner. Support month-end and year-end closing processes. Billing & Revenue Management Oversee service billing cycles and ensure timely and accurate invoicing. Monitor revenue streams and ensure proper allocation and reporting. Assist in implementing and maintaining billing systems and processes. Reporting & Analysis Prepare financial reports related to service operations. Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Provide insights and recommendations to support business performance. Compliance & Controls Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements. Maintain accurate financial documentation and audit trails. Support internal and external audits as needed. Collaboration & Process Improvement Work closely with finance, operations, and customer success teams. Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements. Assist with system enhancements and automation initiatives. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 3+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in service-based or SaaS environments Strong knowledge of GAAP and revenue recognition principles Experience with accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or NetSuite) Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment Preferred Qualifications CPA or progress toward certification Experience with subscription-based billing or recurring revenue models Familiarity with ERP systems and financial reporting tools Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth organization Work Requirements Must reside within the United States Must have valid U.S. work authorization (citizen, permanent resident, or authorized work visa) Ability to work remotely with a stable internet connection and secure workspace What We Offer Competitive salary and performance-based incentives Flexible remote work environment Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off and company holidays Professional development and career growth opportunities Collaborative and supportive team culture Equal Opportunity Statement We are an equal opportunity employer and are committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace.
