Welding Engineer – Stainless Steel / Fabrication

Welding Engineer / Materials & Fabrication Specialist – New Haven, CT | $80K–$130K DOE | Onsite Join our growing manufacturing team as a Welding Engineer / Materials Specialist ! Lead welding procedure development, stainless steel fabrication, and weldment design for critical assemblies in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. This role blends engineering expertise, fabrication skills, and quality leadership to drive production excellence. Key Responsibilities: Develop, qualify, and implement welding procedures (WPS/PQR) for complex alloys and critical joints. Design and fabricate welding fixtures and assemblies using SolidWorks 3D and AutoCAD 2D . Perform hands-on stainless steel and metal welding to meet customer specifications. Lead visual weld inspections in compliance with Level II Visual Weld Inspector standards and ISO 9000. Collaborate with suppliers for welding consumables and outsourced weldments. Support continuous improvement of welding processes, reducing rework and improving quality. Required Qualifications: BS in Materials Engineering or Welding Engineering , OR 10+ years welding-specific experience. Level II Visual Weld Inspector certification. 2–4 years of hands-on welding experience, including stainless steel. Proficient in SolidWorks 3D modeling and AutoCAD 2D for weldments and fixtures. Knowledge of ISO 9000-quality systems and production standards. Additional Information: Full-time, onsite in New Haven, CT | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM Minimal travel; startup-friendly, independent work environment. Experience in OEM fabrication, pump/ fluid-handling, corrosion-resistant equipment , or small/medium manufacturing is a plus.
