Financial Manager (Pastel Accounting) Position Details Position: Financial Manager Location: Centurion Industry: Electrical Manufacturing Type: Permanent Working Conditions: Fully office-based (no hybrid) Role Overview The Financial Manager will oversee the full financial function of the business, ensuring accurate reporting, statutory compliance, and supporting operational and strategic decision‑making. The role requires extensive experience with Pastel Accounting. Key Performance Areas Prepare financial records up to Trial Balance Compile Consolidated Management Accounts Prepare and post monthly journals and provisions Maintain and update pricing structures in Pastel Reconciliations: Bank Reconciliations Stock Reconciliations Work‑in‑Progress (WIP) Reconciliations VAT Reconciliations Other balance‑sheet reconciliations VAT & Statutory: Prepare VAT calculations and submit VAT201 returns Manage EMP501 reconciliations Costing & Manufacturing Support: Work out costings for special fabrications Set up and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) Reporting: Prepare periodic financial and operational reports for the Managing Director Audit & Compliance: Manage and prepare for annual external audits Ensure compliance with accounting standards Qualifications & Experience Minimum Requirements: Matric with exemption Strong Pastel Accounting experience Advanced MS Excel skills Preferred Qualifications Postgraduate degree in Accounting, Financial Management, or CIMA Experience Financial Manager or Senior Accountant experience in manufacturing Experience preparing management accounts, reconciliations, costings, and audit packs BI reporting experience advantageous Competencies & Attributes Strong analytical and numerical ability High attention to detail Ability to work under pressure Excellent communication and reporting skills Strong organisational and problem‑solving abilities Ability to work independently Ethical, reliable, and professional
