About the position
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering or Materials Science 5+ years of welding engineering experience in oil & gas industry Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or equivalent preferred Proficient in welding procedures (WPS/PQR) and NDT methods Knowledge of ASME, AWS, and API standards KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop and qualify Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and maintain Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) Coordinate and oversee NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) activities including UT, RT, MT, and PT for welding inspections Conduct welding inspections and ensure compliance with ASME, AWS, API, and project specifications Review welding documentation, including welder qualifications, material certificates, and inspection reports Identify welding non-conformances, raise NCRs, and implement corrective actions Liaise with client representatives, third-party inspectors, and fabrication teams to ensure quality compliance Provide technical support to welding teams and ensure adherence to approved procedures KEY COMPETENCIES: Strong knowledge of welding processes, WPS/PQR, and NDT methods Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or equivalent certification Familiarity with ASME, AWS, and API industry standards Attention to detail and ability to identify welding defects Excellent documentation and reporting skills Effective communication with client and project teamsAbout the company
