The Opportunity We are collaborating with multiple companies in Kalamazoo seeking experienced PLC Programmers. Key Responsibilities Develop, program, and implement PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) logic for new and existing manufacturing equipment. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve issues related to PLC programs, HMI (Human Machine Interface), and industrial networks. Perform commissioning and startup activities for automated machinery and production lines. Modify and optimize existing PLC programs to improve efficiency, reliability, and safety of manufacturing processes. Create and maintain detailed documentation of PLC code, schematics, and system configurations. Collaborate with engineers, operators, and maintenance teams to define requirements and provide technical support. Conduct rigorous testing and validation of PLC programs to ensure proper functionality and adherence to specifications. Recommended Qualifications Proficiency in programming and troubleshooting Rockwell Automation PLCs (e.g., ControlLogix, CompactLogix) using Studio 5000 Logix Designer. Experience with HMI/SCADA development and configuration (e.g., FactoryTalk View, Ignition, Siemens WinCC). Strong understanding of industrial networking protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus TCP/IP). Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and process flow diagrams. Proven ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex automation issues in a manufacturing environment. Bonus Qualifications Experience programming industrial robots (e.g., Fanuc, Kuka, ABB). Proficiency in HMI/SCADA development platforms (e.g., Rockwell FactoryTalk View, Siemens WinCC). Familiarity with database integration for data logging and reporting (e.g., SQL). Knowledge of industrial vision system integration (e.g., Cognex, Keyence).
