Embedded Systems Engineer | Walker, MI Salary Range: $84,000 - $129,000 depending on experience Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for excelling in embedded systems engineer? The Opportunity We partner with manufacturers across Walker seeking Embedded Systems Engineers who want more than a lateral move. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and test embedded firmware and software for manufacturing equipment and control systems. Integrate embedded systems with industrial sensors, actuators, PLCs, and robotic platforms. Debug and troubleshoot hardware and software issues on production lines to minimize downtime. Optimize embedded system performance, reliability, and efficiency for high-volume manufacturing processes. Develop and implement test protocols and validation procedures for embedded systems in a manufacturing environment. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (electrical, mechanical, manufacturing) to define system requirements and specifications. Provide technical support and training for manufacturing personnel on embedded system operations. Recommended Qualifications Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems development. Experience with microcontrollers (e.g., ARM Cortex-M, PIC) and their peripherals. Ability to read schematics and datasheets, with hands-on hardware debugging experience using tools like oscilloscopes and logic analyzers. Understanding of real-time operating systems (RTOS) and bare-metal programming. Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, CAN, SPI, I2C, Ethernet). Experience with design for manufacturability (DFM) and supporting production test and validation. Bonus Qualifications Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, EtherCAT, PROFINET). Familiarity with manufacturing automation concepts and control systems (e.g., PLCs, SCADA). Experience designing or implementing automated test fixtures and processes for manufacturing. Understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFT (Design for Testability) principles.
