Key Responsibilities Set up and operate EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) equipment, including wire and sinker EDM. Load, align, and secure workpieces onto the machine according to specifications. Monitor machine operation, adjusting parameters and offsets to maintain quality and efficiency. Perform in-process and final quality inspections using precision measuring tools. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions. Troubleshoot machine malfunctions and perform basic preventative maintenance. Maintain EDM fluid levels, filtration systems, and ensure general machine cleanliness. Recommended Qualifications Proven experience operating Wire and/or Sinker EDM machines in a manufacturing setting. Ability to read and accurately interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and G-code/M-code programs. Proficiency with precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, optical comparators) for quality inspection. Strong mechanical aptitude for machine setup, tooling adjustments, and basic troubleshooting. Knowledge of various materials (e.g., steel, aluminum, carbide) and their properties related to EDM processes. Bonus Qualifications Proficiency with CAD/CAM software for manufacturing applications. Experience operating other precision CNC machinery (e.g., CNC milling, grinding). Familiarity with advanced metrology equipment (e.g., CMM, optical comparators). Basic electrical or mechanical troubleshooting skills for machine maintenance.
