The Opportunity We are collaborating with multiple companies in Caledonia seeking experienced CNC Mill Programmers. Key Responsibilities Develop, write, and optimize CNC programs for 3-axis to 5-axis milling machines using CAM software. Select appropriate tooling, cutting speeds, and feed rates to achieve desired part specifications and optimize cycle times. Design and create workholding fixtures and setups for complex machining operations. Perform program simulations and verifications to detect and correct potential errors before machining. Collaborate with machinists and engineers to troubleshoot machining issues and improve manufacturing processes. Create detailed setup sheets, tool lists, and other manufacturing documentation. Ensure all programs adhere to quality standards, safety protocols, and engineering specifications. Recommended Qualifications Proficiency in industry-standard CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks CAM, Fusion 360). Strong ability to write, read, and edit G-code and M-code programs. Expertise in interpreting engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T. Demonstrated experience with CNC mill setup, operation, and troubleshooting. Comprehensive knowledge of cutting tool selection, workholding, and fixture design principles. Understanding of various material properties and their impact on machining processes. Bonus Qualifications Experience programming multi-axis (4 or 5-axis) CNC mills. Proficiency in manual G-code editing and optimization. Familiarity with CNC machine simulation software (e.g., Vericut). Strong understanding of cutting tool selection and workholding strategies. Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
