Key Responsibilities Develop, write, and optimize CNC programs for lathe machines using CAM software and manual G-code. Select appropriate tooling, cutting parameters, and workholding methods for various materials and part geometries. Interpret engineering blueprints, CAD models, and specifications to determine machining requirements. Perform program simulations and dry runs to verify accuracy, prevent collisions, and ensure quality. Collaborate with machinists and engineers to troubleshoot machining issues and continuously improve processes. Create and maintain detailed setup sheets, tool lists, and program documentation. Optimize existing programs for increased efficiency, reduced cycle times, and improved part quality. Recommended Qualifications Minimum 3-5 years of experience in CNC lathe programming. Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360) for 2-axis and multi-axis lathe programming. Strong understanding of G-code and M-code manual programming and editing. Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, GD&T, and technical specifications. Knowledge of tooling selection, cutting parameters, and material properties for various metals. Experience with machine setup, operation, and troubleshooting of CNC lathes.
