Key Responsibilities Develop and implement welding procedures and specifications for various manufacturing processes. Oversee and optimize welding operations to ensure quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Troubleshoot welding-related issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. Select appropriate welding processes, equipment, and consumables based on material, design, and production requirements. Conduct welding performance tests, inspections, and quality control checks to ensure compliance with standards. Train and mentor welding personnel on best practices, safety procedures, and new welding technologies. Collaborate with design engineers and production teams to ensure weldability and manufacturability of components. Research and evaluate new welding technologies and materials to improve production capabilities and product quality. Recommended Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in welding process selection, development, and optimization in a manufacturing environment. In-depth knowledge of various welding processes (e.g., SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, SAW, Resistance Welding) and their applications. Familiarity with welding codes and standards (e.g., AWS, ASME, ISO) and their implementation. Experience with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods and interpretation of results. Strong understanding of metallurgy, material properties, and their impact on weldability.
