Metrology Technician | Allendale, MI Salary Range: $48,000 - $75,000 depending on experience Are you a dedicated professional with a passion for precision measurement and ensuring quality standards? The Opportunity We collaborate with manufacturing companies in the Allendale region seeking Metrology Technicians. Key Responsibilities Perform precise dimensional measurements and inspections of manufactured parts using various metrology equipment. Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot a wide range of measuring instruments and gauges. Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements to ensure product quality. Document measurement results, calibration data, and maintain detailed records in accordance with quality standards. Conduct Gauge R&R (Repeatability & Reproducibility) studies and other Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA). Provide technical support and training to production and engineering staff on metrology principles and equipment usage. Identify and resolve measurement discrepancies, recommending corrective actions as needed. Recommended Qualifications Proficiency in operating and programming various metrology equipment (e.g., CMM, optical comparators, calipers, micrometers). Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Solid understanding of measurement principles, calibration techniques, and quality control standards. Experience with metrology software for data collection, analysis, and reporting. A technical degree or certification in metrology, quality, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Bonus Qualifications Proficiency in programming CMMs (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso) or automated vision systems. Experience utilizing statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab, JMP) for process control. Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) for model interpretation and measurement planning. Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt or Green Belt certification.
