Wayman Education is recruiting an experienced SEN TA for a welcoming school in Newham. This SEN TA role begins January 2026, with a comprehensive induction and preparation period provided before January 2026. The SEN TA will support pupils with a range of learning, communication and emotional needs, working closely with teaching staff and the SENCO. Position details Role: SEN TA — Newham Start date: January 2026 Contract: Full-time, long-term The role The SEN TA will provide targeted in-class and small-group support, adapt resources and assist with behaviour strategies. Working across Newham, the SEN TA will help pupils engage positively with learning and develop independence. The SEN TA will contribute to review meetings and maintain clear communication with staff and families. Key responsibilities Support pupils with SEND to access learning effectively. Deliver structured interventions under teacher guidance. Assist with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies. Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff. Promote inclusive practice throughout the Newham school. Person specification Previous SEN TA or relevant classroom support experience. Understanding of inclusive teaching strategies. Reliable, flexible and committed to pupil progress. Able to begin January 2026 with induction completed before January 2026.
