Location: Camden, North London Position: SEN Teaching Assistant – Complex Needs Start Date: ASAP / Next Term Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience The Opportunity An inclusive and well-resourced primary school in Camden is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with complex additional needs . This role is suited to candidates who are confident supporting pupils with a combination of learning, communication, and emotional needs within a mainstream primary setting. You will work with pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 , supporting children with Autism, SEMH needs, learning difficulties, and sensory processing challenges . Support will include a mix of 1:1 work and small group interventions , delivered in collaboration with teachers and specialist staff. About the School This school has a strong commitment to inclusive education and provides a calm, structured environment for pupils with additional needs. The SEN provision is well-organised and supported by experienced leadership and a proactive SENCo. The school works closely with external agencies, including educational psychologists, speech and language therapists, and behaviour specialists, ensuring a holistic approach to pupil support. Key Responsibilities Support pupils with complex SEN needs within the classroom Assist with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies Support communication and social development Help pupils access learning through differentiated support Implement EHCP targets and behaviour plans Support pupils during transitions and unstructured times Record observations and contribute to SEN reviews Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and external professionals Person Specification Experience supporting pupils with complex SEN needs Calm, adaptable, and emotionally intelligent approach Strong communication and teamwork skills Confidence following structured SEN and behaviour plans Willingness to engage in ongoing training This role is ideal for candidates with SEN school, care, or therapeutic support experience.
