Senior Java Developer

About the position

Challenging work – what will you do? Design and implement new regulatory reporting software supporting all global regulatory initiatives. The regulatory reports are crucial to the firm fulfilling the requirement of external regulators Use Java 17/Spring/Kafka/Singlestore technology stack to develop a horizontally scalable microservice system Solve challenging big data problems. Ensure data correctness while processing millions of rows a day Use Scala/Spark/Hadoop technology stack to develop effective data processing services within the data lake Build relationships with end users to understand the business and suggest improvements to existing tools and processes Gain a comprehensive understanding of financial instruments across multiple asset classes ranging from high-volume FX trades to complex commodities, credit, equities and interest rate derivatives Skills We are looking for candidates who have: Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to enable cooperation with users globally Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, mindset of ownership, and excellent follow-through Strong programming skills in Java, at least 5 years of coding experience Good understanding of microservices and demonstrated ability to build horizontally scalable systems Experience with SQL, relational databases, and query optimization Experience in supporting production environment, handling production issues, their resolution & follow-ups Experience in test-driven development Fast learner who can pick up existing applications (functionally & technically) Good understanding of data structures, algorithms, and designing for performance and resiliency Focus on software quality – the ability to write clean code and encourage others to do so Openness for acquiring new skills and learning new technologies Additionally, welcome: Experience or a strong interest in investment banking or financial products is a plus Experience being a technical owner, performing code reviews Experience with near real-time transactional systems like Kafka Experience with Single store Experience with Scala Experience with big data concepts (we use Hadoop for Data Lake)
