Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Physician Assistant to join our team at a reputable hospital in a day shift role. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospital medicine and be able to provide high-quality care to patients under the supervision of a physician.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and obtain medical histories from patients
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as blood work and imaging studies
- Develop and implement treatment plans for patients, in collaboration with the supervising physician
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician
- Monitor and record patient progress, and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans
- Educate patients and their families on disease management, treatment options, and preventive care
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education programs to enhance clinical skills and knowledge
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Board Certification as a Physician Assistant
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in hospital medicine
- Strong clinical knowledge and skills, with the ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in electronic medical records and other healthcare software
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work occasional weekends and holidays, as needed
