CFO / Managing Partner

About the position

Overview:

R77 Elite Talent is proud to be supporting a well-established and reputable Accounting firm in Malta in their search for a strategic and commercially focused CFO / Managing Partner.

This is a senior leadership role offering the opportunity to shape the financial future of the firm, support international clients in setting up Malta-based entities, and lead key growth initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Leadership

• Oversee the groups financial strategy, planning, and reporting functions

• Ensure adherence to IFRS, local GAAP, and Maltese tax and compliance standards

• Drive financial analysis, performance tracking, and sustainable cost control

Client Advisory & Company Formation

• Advise clients on setting up corporate structures in Malta and across Europe
• Provide oversight on incorporation, governance, regulatory filings, and compliance
• Ensure full alignment with MFSA, MBR, and FIAU standards and requirements

Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A)

• Lead the identification, negotiation, and integration of acquisition opportunities
• Perform valuations, due diligence, and risk assessments for target companies
• Support the broader growth strategy through deal-making and strategic partnerships

Strategic & Operational Oversight

• Partner with legal, tax, and compliance teams to deliver top-tier CSP services
• Represent the firm in high-level client meetings and regulatory discussions
• Introduce improvements in process efficiency, digitalisation, and service delivery

Requirements:

• ACCA Association of Chartered Certified Accountants

• ACA Associate Chartered Accountant (ICAEW)

• CPA (Malta) Certified Public Accountant and member of the Malta Institute of Accountants (MIA)

• CIMA Chartered Institute of Management Accountants

Preferred additional certifications:

• MBA (Finance, Strategy, or International Business)

• ADIT Advanced Diploma in International Taxation

• STEP Trust and Estate Planning experience is an advantage

Experience & Skills:

• 8+ years in senior finance roles within a Corporate Services Provider or similar
• Proven ability to lead company formation processes, international structures, and ongoing compliance
• Strong track record managing or advising on M&A transactions
• In-depth knowledge of Maltese corporate law, tax planning, and regulatory obligations
• Fluent in English; knowledge of Maltese or additional languages is beneficial
• Commercially savvy, people-oriented, and capable of driving growth
