Design Management Officer

About the position

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Design Management Officer plays a pivotal role in supporting construction, renovation and fit-out projects by supporting project management and creating precise technical designs ensuring project accuracy. This position requires project management experience and proficiency in CAD software, project management skills, and a working knowledge of FirePro systems and MEPFS (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Safety).

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with architects and engineers to gather and interpret structural and product requirements.

  • Conduct site validations and inspections, preparing detailed reports and complete electrical and MEPFS drawings.

  • Calculate dimensions, material requirements, and weight limitations to ensure design accuracy.

  • Develop detailed technical designs using CAD software, including AutoCAD, SketchUp, and REVIT.

  • Create diagrams, maps, and layouts to visualize project workflows and concepts.

  • Review rough sketches with the engineering team to ensure accuracy and feasibility.

  • Identify and resolve design issues to enhance operational functionality and performance.

  • Ensure all designs adhere to relevant regulations, safety standards, and quality benchmarks.

  • Prepare comprehensive manuals outlining the operations, features, and maintenance of designed products.

  • Assist with project management, including scheduling, documentation, and coordination.

  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Project Management Senior Manager and/or Construction Manager.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or Architecture.

  • 5 years of experience in managing renovation and fit-out projects.

  • Basic knowledge of FirePro systems and MEPFS design and implementation.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and REVIT; familiarity with 3D modeling tools is an advantage.

  • Strong skills in project management, multitasking, collaboration, and communication.

  • Flexibility and willingness to do fieldwork.

  • Willingness to report to the head office as needed.
