Nepali-Speaking Immigration Legal Assistant

About the position

Reclatam is seeking a dedicated and motivated Immigration Legal Assistant who is fluent in Nepali (spoken and written) to join the team of one of our U.S.-based immigration law firm clients. This position is ideal for someone with 12 years of asylum experience, though training is available for the right candidate.

The firm has a strong and growing removal defense and asylum practice, and more senior opportunities may be available for candidates with deeper experience in these areas.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist attorneys and legal staff with asylum case preparation and filings

• Communicate effectively with Nepali-speaking clients

• Translate and draft documents as needed (NepaliEnglish and vice versa)

• Support removal defense and other immigration-related matters

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files and client records

Qualifications:

• Fluency in Nepali (written and verbal) is required

• 1-2 years of experience in asylum or immigration law preferred

• Strong communication and organizational skills

• Willingness to learn and grow within the role

• Prior experience in removal defense is a plus
