Project Manager II

About the position

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary liaison and owners representative, managing and directing the project

  • Develop and manage project scope to ensure alignment with goals and objectives

  • Develop Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and oversee the procurement process for design and construction services

  • Ensure on-schedule and on-budget project delivery in accordance with contract requirements

  • Define program goals, develop methods to achieve them, and understand owner objectives, contracts, and policies

  • Supervise the technical, financial, and administrative functions of the project

  • Collaborate with teams and airport management to develop budgets, schedules, and execution plans

  • Oversee the owner's staff managing stakeholder interfaces and full project delivery

  • Resolve complex design, constructability, or operational issues; conduct site investigations for design input

  • Maintain documentation on approved scope, agreements, drawings, specifications, and CAD representations

  • Supervise the Design Manager through all design and construction phases, including handling design compliance, RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, tests, approvals, and commissioning

  • Oversee the permitting process and monitor significant design changes

  • Lead construction efforts to mitigate inefficiencies and remove obstacles

  • Ensure work is performed according to the latest approved documents

  • Collaborate with project teams to plan construction activities and meet critical milestones

  • Maintain high safety standards and compliance with quality assurance processes

  • Prepare progress, risk, and change order reports

  • Review pay applications for accuracy and contractual compliance

  • Manage project closeout processes and ensure timely documentation

  • Coordinate with all stakeholders and enforce program requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Architecture, Aviation, Engineering, Construction Management, Planning, Business, or related technical field (Masters preferred)

  • 10+ years of experience (preferably in airport infrastructure projects)

  • Experience managing projects valued over $50 million

  • Familiarity with delivery methods: Design-Bid-Build, CMAR, Design/Build

  • Strong project management capabilities

  • Excellent communication and knowledge of industry standards and regulations

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam; CAD or Revit is a plus

  • Preferred certifications: PMP, PE, AICP, AAAE, LEED, or similar

  • Full-time, Monday Friday position with potential evening/weekend work as needed
