Legal Head for Supply Chain (Manufacturing | FMCG)

About the position
Job Summary:
This position provides crucial legal support to the Supply Chain team, ensuring strategic objectives are met while establishing and maintaining best-in-class supply chain operations. The role involves a deep understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks impacting a complex supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain an effective integrity and governance infrastructure embedded in all supply chain operations, actively managing litigation avoidance, and mitigating legal and regulatory risks across all sites.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide array of supply chain-related contracts, ensuring full regulatory compliance for all operational sites, including adherence to quality, safety, environmental, and food laws. This also includes providing efficient transactional support to all plants and distribution centers.
- Provide strategic legal support for special projects, including sustainability initiatives, new product launches, and greenfield plant developments. This involves developing, designing, and delivering comprehensive training on legal compliance to client groups, and continuously advising the business on current laws, regulations, and other relevant developments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's in Law (LLB) required; a Master's in Law (LLM) is highly preferred, demonstrating advanced legal expertise.
- At least 10 years of relevant work experience, with a significant portion gained in both a reputable law firm and a manufacturing company. This experience should include in-depth knowledge of food and/or beverage laws, competition law, sales promotion permit requirements, contract drafting and negotiations, litigation and risk management, and labor laws, among others.
- Possess strong written and oral communication skills, excellent analytical capabilities, and strategic thinking. The candidate must also demonstrate the ability to work effectively under pressure to meet multiple deadlines on various proposals.
