Accounts Payable Manager

About the position

We're looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to lead our AP team and make sure all payments to vendors, employees, and other parties are handled accurately and on time. This role is key to keeping our financial operations running smoothly and ensuring we follow internal policies and government requirements. The AP Manager will work with other departments to improve processes and resolve any payment-related issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the day-to-day AP process - from invoice checking to payment processing and reconciliations. 
  2. Review and recommend payment vouchers for approval based on the approved spending matrix. 
  3. Ensure compliance with BIR rules and other tax-related requirements (e-&, VAT,EWT). 
  4. Manage vendor master files and keep data accurate and updated.
  5. Handle month-end and year-end AP activities, including cut-offs and accruals. 
  6. Strengthen internal controls in the AP process and help prevent delays, errors, or fraud. 
  7. Lead AP-related process improvements or automation initiatives. 
  8. Prepare required reports for management, auditors, and other teams.
  9. Help resolve issues with vendors or internal departments regarding payments. 10. Support the Finance Controller on policies, audits, and team alignment.

Qualifications:

Education:

  1. Graduate of Accountancy, Finance, or any related business course.
  2. CPA Licensed is required

Experience:

  1. At least 5 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting. 
  2. Minimum 2 years in a managerial role in a high-volume transaction environment. 
  3. Preferably with experience in retail or companies with multiple locations. 
  4. Familiar with ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite.

Skills and Competencies:

  1. Strong working knowledge of local tax rules and BIR requirements
  2. High attention to detail and accuracy. 
  3. Skilled in Excel-including Pivot Tables, SUMIFS, XLOOKUP, etc. 
  4. Strong communication and leadership skills; able to coordinate with teams across departments. 
  5. Can manage deadlines and work well under pressure. 
  6. Trustworthy and keep sensitive information confidential.

Work Environment: Occasional overtime required during peak periods (e.g., month-end or year-end close) and works closely with Finance GA, Treasury, Tax, Legal, and Operation.
