About the position
We are seeking a Cost Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will draw on experience to make financial decisions based on collecting and analyzing cost accounting data. This is a great opportunity to work with a dynamic and collaborative team and add your finance background and analytical mindset to it.
Salary: $75k-$90k
Responsibilities:
- Analyze cost structures and pricing strategies to identify opportunities for cost reduction and improved profitability.
- Prepare standard cost reports and product cost analyses.
- Monitor inventory levels and assess cost variances.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting by collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Record journal entries and ensure proper allocation of direct labor, overhead and manufacturing-related costs.
- Support internal audits and maintain compliance with financial regulations and policies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in cost accounting or a similar role.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and accounting software (Microsoft Dynamics, Jet Reports, Excel).
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Excellent analytical thinking and decision-making abilities.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for presenting financial data to stakeholders.
- CPA or CMA preferred.
- Strong mathematical and statistical aptitude.
- Experience working with large datasets and performing in-depth financial analysis.
