General Stores & Purchasing Manager

About the position
On behalf of our client, Manpower Malta is seeking to recruit a General Stores and Purchasing Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure general stock items (including spare parts) are always available to meet production demands, working within defined inventory limits.
- Oversee a small warehouse team and collaborate across departments to maintain seamless operations.
- Handle purchase orders for general stock in coordination with operational teams.
- Develop and uphold stock management systems in line with ISO standards and industry best practices.
- Maintain accurate stock data within the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to support real-time decision-making.
- Work toward inventory and procurement targets set by senior management.
- Coordinate procurement admin staff and ensure purchasing processes align with internal policies and ethical standards.
- Negotiate competitive pricing while ensuring the quality of goods and resolving any supplier issues as they arise.
Requirements:
- A Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Business Studies, or a similar field is preferred.
- Previous experience in an inventory or procurement environment ideally within the Food & Beverage sector.
- Strong leadership and team coordination skills, with a problem-solving and proactive mindset.
- Demonstrated ability to work on own initiative and creatively resolve operational issues.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities, along with strong ICT skills.
- Highly analytical, with the ability to interpret stock and procurement data to support business decisions.
