About The Role

The Product Specification Specialist is to secure product specifications for the company and its affiliated
brands of products for building projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and record relevant construction and design projects using online platforms and service providers.
  • Build relationships with architects, designers, engineers, quantity surveyors, construction firms, property managers, and corporate clients.
  • Conduct regular in-person or virtual presentations to industry professionals.
  • Track project pipelines and provide monthly, quarterly, and annual activity reports.
  • Support and prepare for exhibitions and trade events.
  • Prepare accurate quotations, including stock availability, pricing, and delivery timelines.
  • Maintain clear and proactive communication with clients, keeping them updated and resolving any issues.
  • Manage and document customer complaints, ensuring corrective and preventative actions are taken.
  • Handle all customer documentation and order amendments professionally and on time.
  • Attend internal sales meetings and assist with business travel planning.
  • Create and manage detailed project and sales pipeline plans aligned with company goals.
  • Maintain accurate records of all clients, projects, and communications.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams and provide coverage for absent colleagues when required.
  • Contribute positively to team morale and uphold the company's professional image.

About You

  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and telephone)

  • Customer-focused, self-driven, and organized

  • Technically competent with attention to detail

  • Confident, approachable, and emotionally intelligent

  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), MS Outlook, and business platforms like LinkedIn

  • Proven ability to work independently and within a team

  • Own a reliable vehicle and excellent attendance record

Desirable Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an External Sales Representative at the same company within the last 5 years

  • Exposure to internal sales roles is beneficial

  • Minimum educational requirement: High School Matric

  • Strong computer literacy with proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work to high procedural and quality standards
