About the position
Job Purpose
As the Chief Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire accounting and financial management system, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance, managing budgets, taxes, and financial reporting. You will play a crucial role in supporting business decision-making and maintaining financial discipline within the company.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial & Accounting Management
- Supervise day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger, receivables, payables, and fixed assets.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records and compliance with VAS (Vietnamese Accounting Standards) and other relevant regulations.
- Monitor and manage cash flow, budgets, and financial forecasts.
- Prepare periodic financial statements (monthly, quarterly, annually) and reports to BOD and relevant authorities.
2. Tax & Compliance
- Ensure timely and accurate tax declarations and payments (VAT, PIT, CIT, etc.).
- Liaise with tax authorities, auditors, and government agencies during inspections or audits.
- Implement and ensure compliance with all legal, tax, and financial regulations.
3. Internal Control & Risk Management
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Identify financial risks and propose mitigation plans.
- Review contracts from an accounting and tax perspective before execution.
- Manage payroll and employee compensation for all staff, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and labor laws
4. Strategic & Team Management
- Provide financial insights and recommendations for strategic planning.
- Lead and develop the accounting team, assigning tasks and ensuring team performance.
- Coordinate with external auditors, banks, legal consultants, and other stakeholders.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Chief Accountant Certificate is required.
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in a chief accountant or finance manager role.
- Solid understanding of Vietnamese tax laws, accounting standards, and corporate finance.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., MISA, FAST, or similar) and MS Office.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
- High integrity and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Experience in Private Equity and Venture Capital is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in investment, leasing, or financial services sectors.
- Fluent in English is an advantage
