Legal Counsel (iGaming)

About the position

One of our successful clients is an igaming platform provider which keeps growing and now opens the opportunity for a Legal Counsel to join their small Legal Team. The Legal Counsel will assume a hands-on role with responsibility for the day-to-day legal and compliance operations of the company.

iGaming experience is essential to be considered for this role, which is based in St Julian's and pays up to €65K annually.

Role & Responsibilities

• Managing the day-to-day legal and compliance operations of the company
• Assisting the Head of the department in building a scalable foundation for the legal team including developing templates and processes
• Drafting, negotiating and reviewing of commercial contracts and agreements
• Advising on a wide range of commercial matters such as intellectual property & technology
• Overseeing and maintaining contractual obligations and regulatory relations
• Identifying legal issues, providing analysis of legal risks and assisting in the creation and implementation of solutions
• Liaising with external advisors and regulatory bodies
• Maintaining records of group policies and procedures

Education, Skills & Experience

• Law degree
• 3+ years experience in a similar, commercial contracts-focused role in the iGaming industry
• Strong knowledge and understanding of online gambling legislation and industry best practices
• Experience of working with the MGA
• Experience with Privacy/GDPR and Intellectual property
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken
• Ability to explain complex information clearly and concisely to non-lawyers
• Meticulous, detail-oriented
• Ability to work responibly, independently
