About the position
Job Summary:
This position is responsible for operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to support plant operations in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include loading/unloading, staging, material movement, and routine equipment maintenance while ensuring adherence to safety and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load, unload, move, stack, and stage products and materials in designated areas.
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and perform basic forklift maintenance to ensure operational safety.
- Support inventory management by accurately handling goods in and out of storage locations.
- Providing support to the assembly team.
- Collaborate with warehouse, production, and logistics teams to meet operational goals.
- Report equipment faults, safety concerns, or operational issues to supervisors promptly.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Requirements:
- Experience: 1–3 years in logistics, warehousing, or manufacturing environment; automotive or industrial sector experience preferred.
- Certification: Valid forklift operator license/certification.
Skills:
- Skilled in operating forklifts and warehouse handling
- Knowledge of safe loading/unloading and stacking procedures
- Basic understanding of warehouse organization and material flow.
- Time management and ability to work under pressure.
- Communication in both English and Swahili.
- Ability to operate different types of forklifts.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for routine equipment checks and maintenance.
