Lead Low-Voltage Technician

About the position

Lead Low Voltage Technician Travel-Based Role (Night Shift Focus)

We are seeking an experienced Lead Low Voltage Technician with strong expertise in CAT5e, fiber optic, and network systems. This is a travel-heavy, road warrior role, ideal for someone flexible and eager to work across various shiftsprimarily nights with some daytime work as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain a variety of low voltage cabling infrastructures

  • Install IP cameras (preferably Axis) and related systems

  • Run low voltage cabling in commercial buildings, including limited conduit work and concrete drilling

  • Install cable support structures such as j-hooks, cable racks, and innerduct

  • Ensure all cables are neatly tied, bundled, and labeled per safety and project guidelines

  • Repair and maintain cable poles and towers

  • Conduct system tests to verify operability of newly installed cables and components

  • Troubleshoot network issues and ensure systems meet applicable codes and compliance standards

  • Adhere to OSHA and customer-specific safety protocols at all times

  • Lead and mentor small crews, offering daily instruction and on-the-job training

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience as a Low Voltage Technician

  • Hands-on experience with CAT5e, fiber optic, CCTV, voice/data cabling, and network systems

  • Knowledge of CCTV, security systems, and alarm systems is a plus

  • Must be flexible and available for extensive travel (road warrior)

  • Capable of working primarily night shifts, with day shift availability as needed

  • Willing to work on-call as jobs demand

  • Able to read and interpret blueprints and site maps

  • Skilled in MDF/IDF buildouts and cable closeouts

  • Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights

  • Ability to operate BOOM and scissor lifts

  • Possesses basic telecom tools, PPE, and reliable transportation

  • Proficient in the use of smartphones, PCs, email, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Office

  • Strong verbal and written communication and customer service skills

  • Valid drivers license with a clean driving record (no DUI/DWI in the last 3 years)

  • Conduit installation experience is a plus
