Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Land Surveyor with a minimum of 4 years of professional experience to join our growing team. The successful candidate will apply expertise in cadastral, topographical, and engineering surveys, working with the latest surveying equipment and software, while operating in a hybrid work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare for surveys by extracting and analysing relevant records, noting sheets, and diagrams from the Surveyor-Generals office.
- Georeference architectural and engineering drawings to determine accurate setting-out points.
- Transform coordinates between various systems to maintain survey precision and compliance.
- Conduct fieldwork applying sound survey principles, verifying and checking survey results for accuracy.
- Perform topographical, engineering, and cadastral surveys, including beacon relocations, subdivisions, servitudes, and highway surveys following TMH11 standards.
- Compile, submit, and manage cadastral and sectional title survey records for regulatory approval.
- Collaborate with internal teams and clients to ensure smooth survey operations and project delivery.
- Occasionally travel and work away from home to support projects.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, or equivalent qualification.
- Registered with the South African Geomatics Council (SAGC) or relevant professional body.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in cadastral, topographical, and engineering surveying.
- Proficient in operating total stations, GPS receivers, digital levels, and CAD software.
- Valid drivers licence; own vehicle essential for site visits and travel across Cape Town and surrounds.
- Ability to work outdoors in diverse environmental conditions.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently or within a team.
