Outside Sales Representative

About the Role
The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for developing and maintaining strong client relationships through outbound sales efforts, with a focus on growing accounts and identifying new business opportunities. This role includes occasional in-person meetings, on-site visits, and attendance at trade shows to support relationship-building and promote products within the manufacturing sector.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and grow existing customer accounts through communication and relationship-building
  • Conduct outbound sales efforts to generate quotes and close orders
  • Travel occasionally for in-person client meetings, site visits, or overnight trips as required
  • Participate in trade shows and industry events to promote products and gather market insights
  • Support pricing of custom or specialty products in collaboration with management
  • Document all sales activities and maintain detailed records of customer interactions
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through prospecting and lead generation
  • Handle returns, credits, and order modifications to resolve customer issues promptly

Qualifications:

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of two years of sales experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Publisher
  • Excellent multitasking, organizational, and time management skills

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in distributor, technical, or construction-related sales
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes or industrial products
  • Understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and contract negotiation
  • Experience using ERP systems for order and customer management
