About the position

Fire Alarm Service Technician/Programmer (Local Travel Required) 

We seek an experienced Fire Alarm Service Technician to join our team. This is a full-time, direct-hire opportunity for individuals passionate about delivering high-quality service and ensuring life safety systems perform at their best. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience servicing, testing, and programming fire alarm systems, particularly EST 3 or EST 4, and will bring a solid mechanical and electrical aptitude to the role.

Responsibilities:

  • Service, troubleshoot, and program commercial fire alarm and life safety systems.

  • Assist in commissioning and testing of new and existing systems per project scope.

  • Interpret and follow technical documentation, including blueprints, submittals, and schematics.

  • Ensure all work complies with local/national codes and internal safety protocols.

  • Provide responsive, customer-first service at every job site.

  • Maintain clear communication with team members, customers, and leadership.

  • Present a professional and safety-conscious image on-site.

  • Participate in continuous improvement and training opportunities.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

  • 3 - 5 years of experience as a fire alarm service technician.

  • Hands-on experience programming EST 3 or EST 4 systems (or similar complexity).

  • Working knowledge of relevant fire codes and industry standards.

  • Proficient with hand and power tools; strong mechanical/electrical aptitude.

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

  • Willingness to travel locally to job sites; minimal overnight travel required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • NICET II Certification in Fire Alarm Systems.

  • Associate degree in electronics, instrumentation, or related field.

  • 2+ years in commercial, industrial, low-voltage, or electrical environments.

Compensation:

  • $35 - $55 per hour, depending on experience and the outcome of a successful interview.
