About the position
A dynamic and inspiring Drama Teacher is sought by a well-regarded Independent co-educational school in Islington. The successful candidate will foster creativity, confidence, and a deep appreciation for theatre in students across Key Stages 3 to 5.
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Drama Teacher lessons covering performance, script analysis, and theatre history across Key Stages 3 to 5.
- Prepare students effectively for GCSE and A-Level Drama examinations and practical performances.
- Cultivate a supportive and collaborative environment where students can explore their dramatic talents and develop their performance skills.
- Contribute to the organisation of extracurricular drama clubs, school productions, and theatre trips.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a specialism in Drama or Performing Arts.
- Demonstrated experience teaching Drama at the secondary level (Key Stages 3 & 4), with A-Level experience being advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of dramatic literature, performance techniques, theatre history, and contemporary theatre practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and directorial skills, capable of inspiring students and leading successful theatrical productions.
