As a DT Teacher with a focus on Resistant Materials, you will:

  • Teach engaging and creative lessons to Key Stage 3 and 4 students, introducing them to a variety of materials and manufacturing techniques.

  • Deliver practical projects that help students understand core principles in design, safety, sustainability, and product development.

  • Use both traditional and digital tools (including CAD/CAM) to bring projects to life.

  • Support classroom safety and help students build confidence using equipment in a safe and responsible way.

  • Take part in curriculum planning and bring fresh ideas to lessons that encourage creativity and problem-solving.

  • Get involved in extra-curricular opportunities such as DT clubs, competitions, or project days to extend learning beyond the classroom.

βœ… Who We’re Looking For

This role is ideal for an enthusiastic and motivated ECT who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or is on track to achieve it by summer 2025.

  • Has a degree in Design & Technology, Product Design, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Is passionate about Resistant Materials, practical learning, and student engagement.

  • Brings energy, creativity, and a willingness to learn and grow within a supportive team.

  • Has strong communication skills and is keen to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.

  • Values inclusivity and is committed to helping all learners succeed.
