About the Opportunity

We are partnering with a leading underground utility construction company to hire a seasoned Vice President of Administration. This executive-level role is critical to driving administrative excellence, financial discipline, and operational efficiency across the organization. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader with deep industry expertise and a hands-on approach to managing complex operations and cross-functional teams.

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align administrative functions with organizational goals
  • Contribute to high-level planning, decision-making, and long-term business strategy
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes
  • Monitor financial health and drive cost-efficiency initiatives across departments
  • Optimize procurement, logistics, and overall operational workflows
  • Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements and best practices
  • Oversee vendor, subcontractor, and consultant contracts to ensure compliance and timely execution
  • Manage contract negotiations and monitor project budgets and timelines
  • Direct HR strategy including recruitment, employee development, training, and compensation
  • Foster a culture of accountability, growth, and performance across all teams
  • Ensure clear communication with internal departments, clients, and regulatory bodies
  • Prepare and present performance and operational reports to the executive team and board

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant experience, including 5–7 years in a senior administrative role within the construction sector (underground utility experience preferred)
  • Proven leadership in operations, finance, and organizational development
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, legal frameworks, and regulatory compliance
  • Proficiency with project management tools and methodologies
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
  • Inspires high-performing teams through clear vision and execution
  • Deep expertise in budgeting, cost control, and financial strategy
  • Solutions-oriented with strong problem-solving capabilities
  • Knowledge of the unique challenges within the construction industry
  • Clear, professional communicator across all stakeholder levels
