Financial Controller

About the position

We are supporting our client, an international company in the medical sector, driving innovation in healthcare, in the search for an experienced Financial Controller. This is a key role within the finance function, with primary responsibility for financial reporting, controlling processes, and supporting data-driven decision-making across the business. While the core focus is on financial control, the position also offers exposure to ESG-related reporting and cross-functional collaboration in an organization that places growing emphasis on sustainability and transparency.

Key responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and management analyses for both local and global stakeholders.
  • Monitor financial performance, conduct variance analysis, and support forecasting and budgeting processes.
  • Provide financial insights to business leaders and contribute to strategic planning.
  • Analyze cost structures, product and project profitability, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls to ensure accurate, reliable financial data.
  • Support internal and external audits, ensuring timely and complete financial documentation.
  • Collaborate with teams across the organization (e.g., HR, Procurement, EHS, Operations) in areas where financial data intersects with ESG requirements.
  • Contribute to the integration of selected ESG metrics into financial controlling frameworks (e.g., process transparency, auditability, data integrity).
  • Assist with financial inputs to sustainability-related reports and ensure financial alignment with ESG disclosures.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in financial controlling, preferably in an international environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and a proactive, business-oriented mindset.
  • Familiarity with financial reporting standards (IFRS is a plus).
  • Interest or exposure to ESG-related topics or reporting is considered a plus.
  • Very good command of English (minimum B2/C1) – used daily in an international setting.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
