Mobile Lead

About the position

Our client is a rapidly-growing transportation company that has revolutionized the way that customers navigate the city with ease and flexibility.

They are seeking a highly-meticulous and communicative Mobile Lead (Flutter) to spearhead the development of their cross-platform mobile applications. This role requires deep expertise in Flutter and a strong grasp of mobile development best practices. You will lead a small team of engineers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure the successful delivery of high-quality solutions.

Although there is a strong preference for the candidate to be based in Singapore, we will also consider those in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Technical Leadership: Lead the design, development, and deployment of Flutter-based mobile applications, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability.
• Architecture & Best Practices: Establish mobile development best practices, optimize the codebase, and drive efficient engineering processes.
• Cross-Platform Development: Utilize Flutter to build seamless applications for both iOS and Android, integrating native components when necessary.
• Team Mentorship: Guide and mentor engineers, conduct code/RFC/architecture reviews, and foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
• Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, and backend teams to align on technical solutions and product goals.
• Code Quality & Performance: Implement best coding practices, conduct unit testing, and optimize app performance for a smooth user experience.
• DevOps & Deployment: Oversee CI/CD pipelines, troubleshoot production issues, and work with cloud services to deploy and manage mobile applications efficiently.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in mobile development, with at least 2+ years of heavy exposure to Flutter & Dart.
• At least a few years of experience managing engineering teams of 3-5 people.
• Solid understanding of Android architecture patterns, SOLID principles, MVVM, memory management concepts, caching mechanisms, and object-oriented programming.
• Experience with SOA standards, REST APIs, and JSON.
• Experience using tools such as Firebase, Sentry, and Crashlytics.
• Experience rolling out apps on both Google Play and Apple Store, and release & distribution management.
• Experience with offline storage and multithreading.
• Highly prefer candidates who have worked with maps for navigation or routing-related uses cases, and also built solutions using the native capabilities of a phone (camera, GPS, Bluetooth, BLE, NFC).
• Ideally, be able to work out of the office at least 3 days a week. Remote candidates will be least prioritized.

• Fluent or near-fluent in English. Additional Asian languages are a bonus.

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or related IT fields required.
