About the position

Production Manager

The Production Manager is responsible for driving and managing the production process and associates at the facility while maintaining efficient production in terms of quality, cost, and quantity. The manager also develops and leads the Production team in exceeding key performance indicators for safety, environment, quality, customer service, and cost.

Job Description

  • Oversee and optimize manpower, equipment, and materials to meet production goals and maintain cost-effectiveness.

  • Lead improvement efforts to maximize plant efficiency, performance, and cost without compromising quality or safety.

  • Ensure all company rules, disciplinary procedures, and processes are accurately and fairly administered.

  • Ensuring all safety and health standards are met to keep an organization accident-free.

  • Leads by example with impeccable Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) adherence.

  • Ensure compliance to all OHSA and environmental regulatory and corporate standards.

  • Communicating regularly with upper management regarding problems or issues impacting production.

  • Participates in the development of the annual department budget & strategic long-term planning.

  • Evaluating resources to ensure continued production and minimal downtime.

  • Establishing a balance between increased productivity and reduced costs of manufacturing operations

  • Establish production goals, set expectations, and hold the team accountable for production output and continuous improvement.

  • Setting productivity goals for each production associate and team

  • Address production issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime and disruptions.

  • Developing workflow policies and procedures that improve efficiency without compromising safety or quality.

  • Managing, motivating, supporting and providing guidance to production staff.

  • Collaborates with raw material planners to ensure correct inventories based on production schedules. Escalates supplier quality issues to prevent customer shortages.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in leading an assembly production environment.

  • Minimum of 5 years experience managing people/projects

  • Understanding of production processes and controls

  • Demonstrated leadership and the ability to think, act, and strategically lead a business.

  • Excellent PC skills including MS Office SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint Point and Word

  • Exceptional ability to prioritize multiple urgent tasks and effectively manage time and resources.

  • Ability to adapt to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances.

  • Ability to drive cohesion and collaboration among many different people and functions.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position manages the team of production assembly employees. The incumbent must exhibit characteristics of a role model and constantly set a good example.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional company environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. The incumbent has an office with an elevated view of the production facility.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and demonstrate assembly processes.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Must be able to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Travel

Travel is occasional and primarily local during the business day.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance

Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
