About the Opportunity:

Our client, a reputable and growing ICI (Industrial, Commercial, Institutional) construction company based in Burlington, Ontario, is actively seeking a Senior Estimator to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced estimator looking to take ownership of the tendering process on a wide range of new construction and renovation projects across the ICI sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare full-cycle tender packages for ICI construction projects including new builds, interior/exterior renovations, and additions.

• Analyze drawings, specifications, and project requirements to develop accurate cost estimates.

• Coordinate with consultants, architects, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather and validate pricing and scope information.

• Lead and manage the pre-construction and estimating process from concept through to final bid submission.

• Conduct site visits (when required) to better understand project conditions and requirements.

• Evaluate and assess risk, cost factors, and constructability during the tender process.

• Compile detailed take-offs, budgets, and pricing breakdowns using estimating software.

• Participate in value engineering exercises and provide strategic input to increase project competitiveness and efficiency.

• Track historical data and maintain a well-organized database of unit costs, project results, and vendor pricing.

• Support and mentor junior estimators and collaborate cross-functionally with project management and operations teams.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of estimating experience within the ICI construction sector.

• Proven experience preparing tender submissions for both new builds and renovation projects.

• Solid knowledge of construction means and methods, contract documents, and industry practices.

• Proficiency with estimating software such as Sage Estimating, PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or equivalent tools.

• Exceptional numerical accuracy and analytical thinking.

• Strong communication and negotiation skills when working with subcontractors, clients, and internal teams.

• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and deliverables in a fast-paced environment.

• Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field is preferred.
