About the position
A thoughtful and engaging Religious Education Teacher is required to join an Outstanding girls' school in Harrow for a permanent position commencing in September. The successful candidate will guide students across Key Stages 3 and 4 (aged 11-16) to explore diverse religious and ethical perspectives, fostering critical thinking and respect for different beliefs.
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Religious Education Teacher lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Prepare students effectively for GCSE Religious Studies examinations, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of different faiths and philosophical viewpoints.
- Foster a classroom atmosphere that encourages respectful dialogue and critical analysis of religious and ethical issues.
- Assess and monitor student progress in Religious Education, providing insightful feedback to support their understanding and personal reflection.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a specialism in Religious Education or Theology.
- Demonstrated experience teaching Religious Education Teacher lessons at Key Stages 3 and 4.
- A strong academic background in religious studies and a passion for exploring different belief systems and ethical frameworks.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills, capable of leading sensitive and engaging discussions with students.
