About the position
An engaging and knowledgeable Humanities Teacher with a passion for History is required to join a well-regarded Independent mixed school in Brent for a permanent position commencing in September. The successful candidate will inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4 (aged 11-16) with a fascination for the past and develop their critical thinking skills within a humanities context.
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver captivating Humanities Teacher lessons, primarily focusing on History at Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Prepare students effectively for GCSE History examinations, ensuring a strong understanding of historical concepts and interpretations.
- Cultivate a dynamic learning environment that encourages historical inquiry, debate, and the analysis of sources within the broader humanities curriculum.
- Assess and monitor student progress in Humanities (History), providing insightful feedback to enhance their understanding.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a specialism in History or Humanities.
- Demonstrated experience teaching Humanities Teacher lessons with a strong emphasis on History at Key Stages 3 and 4.
- A strong and comprehensive knowledge of British and world history within a broader humanities framework.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills, capable of bringing historical events to life for students.
