As a DT Teacher (Resistant Materials), you will:
Teach engaging and well-structured lessons to Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to contribute to Key Stage 5 depending on experience and subject coverage.
Deliver a curriculum focused on design principles, practical skills, and the creative use of materials such as wood, metal, and plastics.
Encourage students to explore problem-solving through design, using a range of traditional and modern techniques including CAD/CAM.
Ensure safe and effective use of tools, machinery, and equipment, promoting excellent workshop practice.
Contribute to the development and refinement of schemes of work and assessment strategies.
Support extra-curricular activities such as clubs, competitions, and project-based learning opportunities.

Weβre looking for a qualified teacher who:
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and has experience teaching Resistant Materials or Product Design within the secondary age range.
Has a good working knowledge of materials, workshop tools and processes, and is confident in managing a practical learning environment.
Demonstrates excellent communication and organisational skills, and can engage academically able students in both practical and theoretical work.
Is committed to maintaining high standards in the classroom and promoting a love of design and technology.
Works well within a team and values collaboration and continuous improvement.
