About the position
Advance the scientific minds of our students in Barking! Primarily teaching Physics at Key Stage 5.
Our forward-thinking school in Barking is seeking a dedicated and innovative Physics Teacher with a primary focus on Key Stage 5. You will play a key role in stretching and challenging our most able science students, preparing them for future success in STEM fields.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and thought-provoking Physics lessons primarily to A-Level students.
- Develop and implement effective strategies to support high achievement in A-Level Physics.
- Foster a culture of intellectual curiosity and independent inquiry in advanced Physics students.
- Contribute to the assessment and feedback processes for KS5 Physics.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and challenging Science curriculum.
- Engage with current research and advancements in Physics to enrich teaching.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Degree in Physics or a closely related field.
- Experience teaching Physics at A-Level (or strong potential as an ECT with a strong Physics background and a desire to specialize in KS5).
- A strong understanding of advanced Physics concepts and pedagogical approaches for A-Level.
- Proven ability to inspire and motivate high-achieving students.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and mentoring skills.
