About the position
An Outstanding school in Enfield is seeking an enthusiastic and well-informed Geography Teacher for a temporary, full-time position commencing ASAP. This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic Geography Teacher to join a thriving humanities department.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging Geography Teacher lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Prepare students effectively for GCSE Geography examinations, ensuring a strong understanding of key geographical concepts and skills.
- Foster a stimulating learning environment that encourages curiosity about the world and its challenges.
- Assess and monitor student progress in geography, providing clear and constructive feedback as a Geography Teacher.
- Contribute to the delivery of the geography curriculum and the creation of engaging resources, including fieldwork opportunities.
- Encourage student participation in geographical investigations and discussions about global issues.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a specialism in Geography.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching Geography at the secondary level (Key Stages 3 & 4).
- A strong and comprehensive knowledge of geographical concepts, processes, and contemporary issues.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of making geography relevant and engaging as a Geography Teacher.
- Ability to motivate and support students of varying abilities in their study of geography.
- A commitment to collaborative work and a supportive ethos within the humanities department.
